Media notes
Character 32. M1 (crown): postcingulum condition: continuous (0); with gap (1). Remarks: Unordered. This transformation series is similar to [character 24]. Outgroup species and most ingroup species display a continuous posterocingulum of M1 (Character 032: A). Six ingroup species, S. etruscus, C. olivieri, C. leucodon, C. zarudnyi, C. sapaensis, D. pulchellum display a non-continuous postcingulum with a gap in the posterior margin (Character 032: B). The gap is expressed in varying degrees: from the very weak marginal 'ledge' to fully smooth part. In both cases, in posterior view, we can view a continuous belt of the posterocingulum but with opposite states on the occlusal surface: with ridge/ledge [st. 0] or without ledge [st. 1]. For details see S8.
