Media notes
Character 33. M1 (crown): metaloph presence: absent (0); present (1). Remarks: Unordered. Outgroup S. midabilis and most ingroup species display an absence of the metaloph of M1 (Character 033: A). The metaloph is a crest between postprotocrista and the metacone base. The metaloph posteriorly confines the trigon basin; if the metaloph is absent, the trigon basin smoothly passes to hypoconal flange. This state determined in posterior view with checking in occlusal view. Outgroup S. minutissimus and N. fodiens species and two ingroup species, S. megalura, S. johnstoni display a presence of the metaloph (Character 033: B). The state of the metaloph area in M. okuensis undetermined [?] due to tooth wear condition. Hugueney & Maridet (2011) used this character [#26] previously for phylogenetic analysis of extinct Crocidosoricinae. For details see S8.
