Media notes
Character 44. Skull: lateral wall of infraorbital canal width: broad (0); narrow (1); extremely narrow (2). Remarks: Unordered. Outgroup species and M. okuensis display a broad lateral wall of the infraorbital canal (Character 044: A). This character state determined in comparison to M1 buccal length (in lateral view): the wall width is approximately equal or slightly broader than M1 length. Most ingroup species display the relatively narrow lateral wall (Character 044: B). This character state determined by the following relation: the lateral wall width narrower than M1 length, but not less than half of the length. Five ingroup species, S. etruscus, S. megalura, C. serezkyensis, C. zarudnyi, C. zaitsevi display the extremely narrow lateral wall (Character 044: C), when that wall width narrower than half of M1 length. For details see S8.
