Abstract
Washakiin omomyids are a clade of North American Eocene primates whose position has been poorly resolved in previous phylogenetic treatments. Here we describe and provide new morphological data for two of the oldest species in the clade, Loveina sheai and L. wapitiensis and incorporate all the Loveina species into an updated data matrix based on Ni et al. (2004). A strict consensus obtained through an analysis in PAUP found Loveina species forming a paraphyletic "comb" at the base of Washakiini, and Washakiini as sister taxon to other omomyids.Read the article »
