Media notes
Character 13. A2 (root): lateral groove: absent (0); present (1); inapplicable (-). Remarks: Unordered. This transformation series is similar to [character 10]. Outgroup Sorex species and five ingroup species (M. okuensis, C. jouvenetae, C. zarudnyi, C. phanluongi, C. zaitsevi) bear a lateral groove on the root part of A2 (well-developed or weak) (Character 013: B). The lateral groove in other ingroup species is absent (Character 013: A). This character is inapplicable for N. fodiens (Character 013: C) due to this species have well-developed second root remnant. For details see S8.
