Character 37. M2 (crown): metaloph presence: absent (0); present (1).
Remarks: Unordered. This transformation series is similar to [character 33]. Outgroup S. mirabilis species and most ingroup species display the metaloph absence on M2 (Character 0437: A). Outgroup S. minutissimus, N. fodiens species and ingroup S. megalura species display the metaloph presence (Character 037: B).The state of the metaloph area in M. okuensis undetermined [?] due to tooth wear condition. Hugueney & Maridet (2011) used this character [#26] previously for phylogenetic analysis of extinct Crocidosoricinae. For details see S8.
