Character 38. M2 (crown): hypocone presence: absent (0); present (1). Remarks: Unordered. This transformation series is similar to [character 28]. Outgroup S. minutissimus and ingroup D. pulchellum species display the hypocone absence on M2 (Character 038: A). M2 of other species bear hypocone (Character 038: B). Previous authors used this character for phylogenetic analysis of extinct Heterosoricinae (Ziegler, 2009: character #28) and extinct Crocidosoricinae (Hugueney & Maridet, 2011: character #27).
