Character 41. M3 (crown): premetacrista end condition: fused with cingulum (0); free end (1). Remarks: Unordered. Outgroup Neomys species and most ingroup species display a fusion between the premetacrista end and the cingulum (Character 041: A). Outgroup Sorex species and four ingroup species, M. okuensis, S. megalura, C. jouvenetae, C. lasiura display a free end of the premetacrista of M3 (Character 041: B). This condition can suppose the presence of the metacone, but this cone or its remnant undistingble at the studied specimens. For details see S8.
