Provided here is the list of morphological characters used in the phylogenetic analysis, modified from Viglino et al. (2022). References are provided for each character’s sources including the first authors to include the character in this matrix and the original authors of the character; in cases where there is a long or complex publication history of a character, we have elected to refer the reader to selected publications. A hatch (#) is used to indicate the character number from the character list in each publication. Characters in bold have been modified from the source matrix of Viglino, et al. (2022) and taxa re-coded. For unmodified characters, any alteration of character state codings will be noted for each character.
